Christmas Cookie ornaments! This collection features four of our favorites. Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies, frosted with french knots, candy canes decked out in chain stitch, snowflakes with beautiful satin stitched cinnamon candies, and last but not least, spritz cookies, my personal favorite. I can't wait to see how you'll stitch yours. You can use the stitches we picked or your personal favorites. Like all of our holiday ornaments, these cookies look even better with a little sparkle.
You will need:
Embroidery Thread
Needles
Scissors
Backing fabric or wool
Sewing Machine (optional)

Big thanks to Carrie Applegate who helped me stitch an advanced version of this design. I couldn't have done it without her.
The sampler arrives preprinted on cotton quilting fabric, ready to stitch and includes basic instructions. You provide your own threads, needles, and hoop.
PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.
What size is it?
This Sampler measures approximately 12" x 12".
What thread should I use?
We use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.
Where can I find more embroidery help?
I'm so glad you asked! Check out my online workshops on Creativebug.
Where can I see other examples of the finished sampler?
Instagram! Check out the hashtag #dropclothsamplers for tons of beautiful examples of all our designs, stitched by people like you. I hope you'll add yours to the mix!
How should I back my sampler?
For best results, I recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way. Check out my how-to for this step on Creativebug or IGTV (@dropcloth)
What size hoops should I use?
I like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
Dropcloth Samplers proudly ships in up-cycled packaging. Your order may arrive in a reused Prime envelope—but we are NOT associated with Amazon.
