Is there anything better than a freshly sharpened pencil? Yes! Ten hand-embroidered ones. This sampler contains ten hand-drawn pencils ready to stitch in whatever colors you like. Will they be yellow Ticonderogas or brightly colored pencils? Your choice! The circles on the tops can be customized with numbers or letters.
Our accompanying class on Creativebug shows how to turn this sampler into a small zipper pouch, perfect for storing embroidery projects, makeup, or (best of all) pencils! A free trial is included with the purchase of each sampler.
The printed area measures approximately 8 x 8"
The sampler arrives preprinted on cotton quilting fabric, ready to stitch and includes basic instructions. You provide your own threads, needles, and hoop.
PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.

What thread should I use?
We use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.

How should I back my sampler?
For best results, I recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way. Check out my how-to for this step on Creativebug or IGTV (@dropcloth)
What size hoops should I use?
I like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
