LAST CHANCE! This design is being retired. We have a small handful left, and when they're gone, they're gone. We will not be reprinting this pattern.
Originally designed for a short workshop in New Hampshire (on Squam Lake!) these summer lines samplers have nine different stitches, and are a great way to practice your techniques once you’ve finished the original or sequel samplers. This design has lots of couching stitches, so it’s a great chance to break out your fancy threads and knitting yarns for some textural effects. Please not that this design no longer comes with packaging, the fabric will arrive printed and ready to stitch, without instruction.
Make it a Kit!
Are you a first time embroiderer? Need the basic supplies to get started? Make it a kit and we’ll include everything but the scissors to get you started. Kits include three colors of embroidery floss, an embroidery needle, an embroidery hoop, the sampler of your choice, and a bonus Colorburst embroidery sampler. SELECT Make it a Kit! in the dropdown menu above.
The sampler arrives preprinted on cotton quilting fabric, ready to stitch and includes basic instructions. You provide your own threads, needles, and hoop.
PLEASE NOTE: This item is not embroidered, but ready to be embroidered by YOU. The pictures show one way to fill in the design, but you can choose whatever colors/threads you like.
What size is it?
This Sampler measures approximately 9" x 10".
What thread should I use?
We use a combination of size 8 perle cotton and/or embroidery floss.
Where can I find more embroidery help?
I'm so glad you asked! Check out my online workshops on Creativebug.
Where can I see other examples of the finished sampler?
Instagram! Check out the hashtag #dropclothsamplers for tons of beautiful examples of all our designs, stitched by people like you. I hope you'll add yours to the mix!
How should I back my sampler?
For best results, I recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way. Check out my how-to for this step on Creativebug or IGTV (@dropcloth)
What size hoops should I use?
I like a size 6—but use whatever you hoop you have on hand.
Dropcloth Samplers proudly ships in up-cycled packaging. Your order may arrive in a reused Prime envelope—but we are NOT associated with Amazon.
